Ireland's Forgotten Townlands

Recent weather conditions bring to mind the old townland of Ballymadrought in the parish of Swords, containing two small parks known as St. John’s Field and Aire Meadow, and a meadow near smiths forge in the middle of the 18th century. The list of townlands and place names at the Registry of Deeds which have completely disappeared in the mists of time has been updated to include a field in Coolock called Cry Help from the late 18th century and the curiously-named Clamperdilly near Rathfarnham.
