The Clare body-snatching case

In September 1884, the newspapers were alive with reports of a strange body-snatching case involving one of County Clare’s most prominent land agents, Marcus Keane. Keane represented many of Clare’s largest landlords and was unpopular in the district. But when his recently buried body disappeared from Old Kilmaley Churchyard, few could have guessed the obscure motives behind the body snatch.
